My HoneyBunny Is Stuck!
Rock slides are regular occurrences on the Sea-to-Sky highway connecting Whistler to Vancouver. R is stuck in Squamish right now, so close to Vancouver, argh. He had to reschedule is flight to 11pm tonight, but he may not be able to catch it depending on how long it will take to clean up the road. The police estimated 6 to 8 hrs. And the highway cam is temporarily unavailable. No sh*t. It must be buried under a meter of mud or something! They really need to do something about that highway before the Olympics.
Is he out yet?
ReplyDeleteThat highway is horrible on the best days. A total disaster in the winter (especially when you get a bunch of vancouverites driving in snowy conditions ;))
Hehe. R always complains about driving in Vancouver, especially in the snow (he lived there for 12 years).
ReplyDeleteAfter 7 hours, the highway was reopened so he managed to catch the red-eye home.
I remember being stuck on the Sea-to-Sky many times. Beautiful drive, but a hell of a highway.
ReplyDeleteThey are doing something about the highway for the Olympics, which is how the landslide started in the first place. I don't know what's going to happen when the Olympics finally rolls around here. I may just leave town. Ha.
ReplyDeleteAt least he's okay.
